4th French-Moroccan Parliamentary Forum Opens in Paris
The 4th edition of the France-Morocco parliamentary forum kicked off on Friday at the headquarters of the National Assembly in Paris.
The opening session of this meeting was chaired by President of the National Assembly, Richard Ferrand, Speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house), Habib El Malki, President of the Senate Gérard Larcher, and the 1st deputy-speaker of the House of advisers, Abdessamad Kayouh.
The forum, marked by the presence of the presidents of the Morocco-France friendship groups at the parliaments of the two countries, French and Moroccan MPs as well as the Moroccan ambassador to France, Chakib Benmoussa, will touch on the global challenges for parliamentary diplomacy, the means to preserve seas and oceans in the face of climate change, the consolidation of democracy, the French-Moroccan partnership for security and development in Africa as well as several other issues.
Created in 2013, the French-Moroccan Parliamentary Forum brings together the Presidents and deputies of the parliaments of the two countries. It is held alternately in Morocco and in France.
This forum is intended to strengthen consultation and cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries in the framework of the distinguished partnership between Morocco and France.
